Experience

  • I earned a double major in Communications and Public Relations from Keene State College (2015-2019), building a strong foundation in storytelling and strategic messaging. My studies spanned journalism, public relations, communication theories, philosophy, anthropology, film, and graphic design.

Beyond the classroom, I applied my skills in real-world settings — attending press conferences with city officials and state representatives, producing videos, and conducting large-scale surveys reaching 100-500 students. As a marketing intern at The Colonial Theatre, I gained experience in audience engagement and event promotion. I also covered journalism stories on climate change marches, DEI initiatives, and more, while organizing public relations events like Relay for Life and fundraisers for The Monadnock Humane Society. These experiences prepared me to communicate effectively across diverse audiences and industries.

  • Introduction to Biotech.

In July 2019, I began my professional journey as a Communication Intern at Candel Therapeutics, a biotechnology company focused on developing innovative viral immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer, based in Needham, MA. During my time there, I collaborated closely with senior leadership — including the CEO and Executive Director — to develop and implement communication strategies. My work spanned website development, newsletters, social media, and press releases. Key projects included creating internal communication plans, employee blog profiles, and an Andy Warhol inspired pop-art employee photo series to enhance the company culture.

    Accelerated Development.

From 2020 to 2023, I advanced at Candel Therapeutics, taking on roles as Communications Associate and Senior Communications Associate. Under the guidance of the Chief Business Officer, I contributed to pre- and- post-IPO communications, directed and managed six corporate videos, and coordinated investor days, including a two-hour clinical data call with 11 leading experts within the immunotherapy field. I also coordinated conference materials for major medical events like the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer. As my role evolved, I developed a deep understanding of the patient-centric approach in healthcare and helped create educational resources for clinical sites.

    Investor Relations.

Beginning 2023, my focus shifted to investor relations and senior-level communications. I traveled with the CEO and CFO to investment conferences, ensuring on target messaging. I contributed to communication strategies, financial reporting via press releases and SEC filings, and investor presentations. This experience deepened my understanding of financial strategy and biotech investments, bridging science and business in a high-stakes environment.

  • Moving to San Francisco wasn’t just about a new job — it was about stepping into a new life that would challenge and shape me. Leaving New England, leaving family, meant leaving comfort behind. But life is an adventure, right?

My dad and I planned the trip — two weeks, just us, taking turns at the wheel, four hours on, four hours off. It was a rhythm that became comfortable as we traveled west. The miles were filled with music, podcasts, and stories. And when those weren’t enough, curiosity took over. We would fire off random questions for one of us to search while the other drove. Questions ranged from the states we passed through, history of a distant mountain, climate change, etc..

We stopped often to capture the moments — skiing four major mountains, eating barbecue till we were sick, exploring Arches National Park, and enduring highways that seemed to go on forever. Beyond the snapshots, what we cherished was the laughter, the companionship, the quiet understanding that this time together was something rare.

By the time we reached San Francisco, I knew I was stepping into uncertainty, into growth. Maybe a little scared, but never alone. This journey reminded me that no matter how far I go, I carry my family and friends’ love, lessons, and memories with me. Always.

  • Career Transitions to Next Level.

In February 2024, I became the Investor Relations & Corporate Communications Manager at ALX Oncology, a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing innovative therapies, including its lead candidate, evorpacept, to treat various cancers. In this role, I successfully cultivated and maintained strong relationships with sell-side analysts, institutional investors, and major shareholders. I was responsible for coordinating meetings, roadshows, investor conferences, and expert calls, while proactively engaging with the investment community to provide insights into the company’s strategic direction, clinical data, and overall performance. As the primary point of contact for investor inquiries, I ensured timely, accurate, and insightful responses.

    Rebranding Initiative and Corporate Communications.

I led a comprehensive rebranding initiative at ALX Oncology, collaborating closely with the executive team to update the company’s logo, website, and scientific graphics to better align with its evolving identity and strategic vision. I worked with internal and external teams to ensure the rebranding effectively conveyed the company’s commitment to innovation, particularly to investment and pharmaceutical audiences. The website is currently live and can be found here: www.alxoncology.com

My experience at ALX Oncology spanned crafting consistent messaging across press releases, investor presentations, social media, and medical conference materials. I continued my skills in maintaining transparency and compliance for this publicly-traded company, which stemmed from having direct access to legal and regulatory leaders in the field over my professional years.

  • My journey in the biotech industry continues to be incredibly rewarding since graduating college. My family and closest friends have been my unwavering support system, even in moments when I couldn’t pull away from work — driven by my desire to succeed in an industry that goes beyond what most wouldn’t think possible.

I’ve been fortunate to learn from the industry’s most successful leaders, investors, journalists, and, most importantly, my colleagues. They’ve pushed me beyond what I thought was possible in my own career, offering invaluable lessons — some of which are captured in these quotes:

    • “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.”

    • “Take risks.”

    • “Put on your sneakers, log off of work, and go for a walk.”

    • “I wouldn’t give you this project if I didn’t think you could do it.”

    • “Don’t let them take your fire.”

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the power of reflection. After almost six years of relentless hustle — late nights pushing press releases, extensive travel, burnout, and countless wins and losses — I find myself typing with a newfound appreciation for pausing and looking back. It’s a realization I never expected, but one that feels incredibly fulfilling.

Currently, I’m consulting on marketing communications for Executive Biotech Advisors. I’m open to new opportunities and excited to continue making a meaningful impact in healthcare.

Philosophies

Values shape how we operate. In the professional world, being clear on what you value reduces burnout and increases daily satisfaction. For me, collaboration, adaptability, and, most importantly, empowering creativity are core to my identity.

Collaborate

Empower Creativity

Adapt

  • Humans possess an incredible strength that we often overlook - the collective is stronger than the individual. We must embrace planning with open communication, compassion, and unwavering dedication. I firmly believe that operating in an environment where everyone feels heard and valued is crucial for success. Diverse perspectives foster change, leading to enhanced creativity and effective problem-solving.

  • In our ever-changing world, change is an inevitable reality. As a proponent of growth, I understand one must experience both triumphs and setbacks. We must approach every conversation with curiosity and a willingness to adapt when necessary.

  • Creativity has its roots in my parents’ artistic talents. They possess a remarkable ability to transcend conventional boundaries by way of their craft. But it’s not just the artists who are creative. My experiences have convinced me that all humans possess creative potential, even analytical thinkers. To be creative is to achieve success by sharing one’s unique vision with the world, a vision that no one else has conceived. However, to unlock this potential, we must create an environment that nurtures and celebrates both the triumphs and failures of new ideas. Without creative solutions, greatness remains an elusive dream.
